Arthur had surgery on Monday that took him from a Mister to a Miscellaneous (re: he was neutered). So I was on vacation Tuesday and Wednesday to spend some time with my poor boy. The good news is he doesn't seem to notice that anything happened so I thought I'd have some time to prepare a blog post. Bad news, I totally forgot my camera at work -- that's just the way it goes.
So I present to you, Alex & Arthur's Baking Session complete with iPhone photos.
Yesterday, as a special treat, I decided to make Arthur some doggie treats. Spoiler alert, they are a huge hit!
To make the doggie treats, you'll need:
1 cup of wheat flour
1 cup of peanut butter
1/4 of honey (or agave...but you might need to add less agave. That stuff is sweet)
1/4 of milk (I also used some coconut milk)
1 or more hungry dogs
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Add all of the ingredients to a bowl and mix. You may need to add extra milk depending on how your mixture is coming together. You're looking for it to clump together as a dough.

You may also have a dog looking at you all expectantly, like this:
I apologize for the blurriness of all these photos. I get really frustrated when mixing cookies and sometimes give up and use my hands. Very effective for mixing, not so much for taking touch screen photos with doughy, goopy fingers. Also, let this being a warning to you if I ever offer you homemade cookies. My hands have been all up in their business! I digress....
...so after you have effectively mixed your dough, with whatever method you choose, roll your dough out onto a lightly floured surface. There's no specific thickness, just make sure your dough is thin enough for the next part.
So next, find your favourite cookie cutters and cut away. As I feel like Arthur could relate to Yoda, I chose a Star Wars theme.
Bake your treats in the oven for about 10 minutes, you're looking for the edges to turn a golden brown.
TA DA! Homemade dog treats for your special little guy or gal. Arthur loves them!
Do you have any pet friendly recipes that you make for your furry loved one?
Happy Baking!
Alex & Arthur
