Friday Five - August 9, 2013 (If I Owned a House)

This entire post is inspired by the first item on my list of five Friday favourites.  I think I've mentioned before that I live in Toronto in a condo.  I love my neighbourhood and current home but I always wish that we had more space.  So here are five things I'd love to own or do if I had more space.

1. This House

Holy crap guys.  I am so in love with this house and it's the inspiration for this post.  I got a flyer yesterday for the open house.  I wish that I was prepared to sell my condo now, because I want to live here (and by prepared I  mean I wish our place was market ready.  I'd sell in a heartbeat especially for this house). 

This house is practically a block away from where I currently live and so much more space *drool*.  Plus look at it!  I'm definitely going to the open house tomorrow.  I know it's going to sell quickly but if by some stroke of luck it doesn't, I'm talking to my real estate agent about how quickly we can sell our condo.

2. Credenza or Sideboard Table

So, IF I was able to purchase that house I'd finally be able to purchase a sideboard table or credenza.  The condo I have now is almost entirely windows on one side, so there's really no wall space to put a credenza because my couch and dining room pieces are already against the available wall space.

3. I Love Lamp

Limited space means creative organization and furniture arrangements.  I'd love to own a floor lamp but that's precious floor space...all my lighting fixtures are attached to the ceiling and walls.

4. Sitting Outside/Growing Plants

I have a balcony with a small table and two chairs.  It's the perfect size for Dan and I to sit outside, but sometimes we have people over and it's not ideal.  Also, Arthur doesn't care for it much.  He must be able to tell that we're high off the ground.

I also have tiny planters with a couple of herbs growing but I really wish I could grow more.  I'd love to have tomato pots. 

5. Kitchen Space/Display Areas

I have a decent amount of kitchen space to prepare food, however there are quite a few counter appliances and vintage "display" pieces that are in storage because there's not enough room.  I have quite a few Catherineholm pieces that I'd love to display on shelves.
