As mentioned in yesterday's blog post, I wanted to write something about last Thursday's lunch hour adventure -- mainly because I want to gush about one of my favourite stores in Toronto, Labour of Love.
If your looking for a fun gift, cards, jewelery or funky knick knacks then Labour of Love, or it's sister store Propaganda, are for you! It's where I get about 85% of my jewelery. It's also where I go if I want to find funny/edgy cards. We were having a celebrating on Friday for a coworkers birthday so I headed over to Labour of Love to pick up a card and anything else fun for the party.

With a card and some decorations in hand, it was time to head back to work.
On my way back to work, I stopped off at Mylk Uncookies for a delicious treat of Walnut Ave. tea latte made with house made almond mylk and a Walnut green tea. I also had a vegan hot chocolata cookie. Seriously delicious. I love the inside of this cafe, I might go back one lunch with a book to read.
My cookie!
I still needed to find a sign for the party. I knew that Urban Outfitters had some banners that were a little more unique than the typical birthday signs we have in the office so I headed on over that way. On my journey I passed, what we Torontonians refer to as, "Hooker Harveys" which is at the corner of Jarvis and Gerard. Harveys by day, Hookers by night.
When I arrived at Urban Outfitters I found a sign that read "Happy Fucking Birthday" -- perfect! And was able to pick up the items pictured below.

All in all it was a lunch hour (and a half, shhh) well spent!

haha that phone case is awesome!
ReplyDeleteYa, it's hilarious and makes me smile everytime I use my phone however, I didn't really think about the size of it compared to my purse. Oh well, I guess it's an excuse to buy a new purse :)
DeleteWow, Labour of Love seems awesome. Looks like you had a blast.
ReplyDeleteAnd you were completely right about Cathrineholm enamelware. I love it! Sooo pretty. I was really excited about it until I hopped on Ebay and Etsy. No longer as excited. That stuff is pricey! A girl can dream of a vintage, designer kitchen though, right?
Labour of Love is awesome and the owner is incredibly nice and helpful.
DeleteYes, Cathrineholm is typically insanely pricey on etsy/ebay but I always make sure to check for new stuff because I was able to snag a few pieces for a more reasonable price. Sometimes you also see it in thrift stores for a few dollars.
I'd love a vintage kitchen full of Cathrineholm. This makes me insanely jealous - http://www.flickr.com/photos/9832630@N06/6675648489/in/pool-635232@N21/
