Dream Cameras

I love photography and I love gadgets/cameras but unfortunately those things cost money, which I don't have in infinite amounts.  There's always some sort of camera or gadget that I want to buy or plan on buying but other expenses get in the way (Damn you, roof over my head!!)

Since it's release late last year, I've been itching to get my hands on a Lytro even if it's just to test out.  Here's a list of cameras that I'd love to purchase.

1. Lytro

The Electric Blue Lytro
I'm absolutely amazed by this camera, this list is in no particular order EXCEPT for the Lytro it's the first new camera I'm buying.

Unlike a conventional camera that captures a single plane of light, the Lytro camera captures the entire light field, which is all the light traveling in every direction in every point of space.  Since all the colour, intensity, and direction of all the light is captured, you can focus the image after the fact.  Which means no auto-focus motor therefore no shutter delay.

Seriously, I'm amazed!  You should go to the website and check out the demo videos.

2. Instagram Camera Protype

Not even a real camera yet, but I want!  This design comes from ADR Studio. It's a real life digital instant film camera.  The concept camera features:

- 16 GB mass storage
- Wifi and Bluetooth
- 4:3 touchscreen
- 2 main lens, first for main capture, second for 3D filters, webcam applications and QR Code capturing
- Optical zoom
- Led Flash
- Internal printer to make your Instagram photos real
- Paper cartridge with Instagram Paper Sheets
- Dedicated 4 colors ink tanks
- InstaOs 1.0, which put together Facebook and Instagram App feature

 3. Spinner 360 (with Motorizer)

Although it really irks me that Lomography has taken cameras that you used to be able to buy for $20 and, due to increase in popularity, now sell them for $60-$100, I still think this camera is bloody cool.

Just hold the camera in one hand, pull the cord with the other and release it. In one split second, the camera spins 360 degrees on its own axis, capturing every detail around you on 35mm film - The result is a super-wide angle image, 4x longer than a standard landscape photo!  The motorizer allows you to take photos from afar.

4. Time Lapse Camera

This camera can be found at Photojojo, my favourite online camera-y gadgety store, and it allows the user to create time-lapse videos with one push of a button with no additional complicated gear setups.  The camera is weather resistant and takes actual video and not a series of JPEGS.  So no stitching images or converting, yay!

5. Canon EOS 1D X

Hey, I did say this was a list of dream cameras.  Have you seen the specs on this thing...drool!  But at almost $7000 for the body, I think that this is out of my league unless I win the lottery...or become a super saver.

I hoping to add the Lytro and the Time-Lapse Camera to my household in the near future.  I'd be interested in gathering time-lapse footage of Arthur when we're not at home.

Any cameras you dream to own? Any cameras from my list that you do own? I'd love to hear what you think.

    1. Ya, the design is really cute and it's incredibly thin so it would be convenient to tote everywhere.

I really hope they make it a real camera.
