I'm definitely not looking forward to having to get up for work tomorrow. Why do I always feel more exhausted after a long weekend? I should be more rested.
Yesterday I made a Thanksgiving dinner for my two boys (Dan and Arthur). They both ate turkey and veggies...I just ate the veggies...but I'm pretty sure Arthur thought his fancy meal was going to be a regular occurrence because he looked at me all confused this morning when I gave him normal dog food.
Today I went to my parents house for dinner, which was great because I got to see my grandparents and because, as previously mentioned, my parents just got a chocolate lab puppy. Her name is Maggie and she's absolutely adorable. She has little white toes on her left paw and she still has cute puppy breath. I took quite a few photos but I'll try not to post them all. So cute.
When we came home, Dan and I took Arthur to the leash free park where we met actress Julie Benz. Dan was really cool about it and just played with Arthur but I could tell he was excited because Dexter is one of his favourite shows. I always try to act cool and pretend like I don't know the person is famous but I still want to talk to them so I just come across as being super awkward. There are a few celebrities that live in my condo building and I know that I act like such a weirdo around them. I should write a blog post entitled "How Not To Act Around a Celebrity" and just list everything that I do. What's the proper etiquette? Do I acknowledge that I know who they are or pretend I don't know them?
In any event this encounter worked out well (although I was still awkward) because Ms. Benz and her husband are super nice and like dogs. To say a person at a dog park likes dogs is a weird statement to make but you do get owners who come to the park and keep to themselves and insist that their dog keeps to itself. I always appreciate it when a dog owner takes the time to meet the other dogs and other owners.
I'm going to end this post with a picture of my two boys who are all turkey'ed out!
Happy Thanksgiving
Alex & Arthur
That's so nice of you making thanks giving dinner for your doggy! Awww your parents puppy looks so cuddly and fun.
ReplyDeleteHaha I definitely want to see a "how to not act around celebrities" post. I don't think I've ever met any celebrities, I'd probably be super awkward around them.
Oh my, the puppy is so cute. You got great photos of her! Sounds like you had a great Thanksgiving weekend.
