We went to visit my parents on Sunday and one of their four labs must of caught Arthur in the eye because he was blinking Sunday night and on Monday his eye was swollen. I took him to the vet on Monday morning who confirmed that his cornea was scratched again -- the same eye he had surgery on 9 months ago. Thankfully, yesterday's follow up visit went well and the vet said that it's healing nicely. So fingers crossed.
Since I've been preoccupied with Arthur's eye, I haven't posted the things I've wanted to, which is unfortunate because there's something I'm really excited about and want to share with you. I'm hoping I'll get a chance tomorrow.
In the meantime, I wanted to share some pictures from a Christmas French Bulldog meetup that Dan, Arthur and I attended on Saturday. We had to take a detour on the way there because of a road closure so I was a little frazzled and as a result left my camera in the car. Dan took these with his iPhone which is why they're blurry.
There was also a Santa at the location for the dogs to get their pictures taken. It's my new favourite picture of Arthur. It's the background of my phone, computer, and I have it on my desk. It makes me smile so much.
Alex & Arthur
Honestly, I'm not a big fan of frenchies, but that's a really cute picture with Santa.
ReplyDeleteThey're definitely not for everyone. My coworkers common comment about Arthur is, "he's got a face only a mother could love."
DeleteFrenchies are so freakin cute!! I'm so jealous, wish there was a frenchie meet up around here. Alos the last photo, Oh, my god. Love!
ReplyDeleteThe photo turned out well -- Arthur was pretty smiley that day. Frenchie meetups are pretty cute. It's was 50 little snorty pigs running around for two hours.
DeleteOh my gossshhh I'm so in love with your little fella, these pics are too cute. I'm glad Arthur's eye in on the mend! It's horrid when they get hurt and you feel so helpless isn't it :(
ReplyDeleteYa, the feeling of being helpless is the worst when your puppy is sick/hurt. I know Arthur is confused that he's wearing his cone 24/7 but i can't explain to him why :(
DeleteThat photo with Santa is the best.
ReplyDeleteAlthough it is sort of a creepy looking Santa, but that makes it even better.
I'm sorry to hear about your dog's eye, I hope it gets better!
Ya, Santa is definitely creepy. I saw a bunch of the Santa/dog photos on the Pawsway's (the place we were at) Facebook page and his picture with Arthur is the least creepy that Santa looked all day. In most of the pictures he looks like he's kidnapping the dog.

I know this is an older article but I have read a lot of your older articles about your frenchy if you ever have anytime please check out some of my AKC French bulldogs I show them all the time and am a French Bulldog Breeder but I just love the french bulldogs at heart and am so happy to see people like you caring for this wonderful breed
