Alex and Arthur: House Envy!

House Envy!

Planting Peace, a national nonprofit organization, bought a house across the street from the Westboro Baptist Church (a vocal anti-LGBT organization) and painted it the colours of the gay pride flag.  The house is called the "Equality House" and it's meant to symbolize equality, peace and positive change.

I think it's beautiful, as is the message of equality and tolerance, however I do find this approach a tad confrontational (although I'm sure the church protests were also confrontational)

The other outcome of the Equality House is that I now totally have multi-colour/rainbow house envy.  (Before I just had house envy.  I love my neighbourhood and I love my home but condo living can be rough storage wise).

Here are some other Multi Colour Houses:

If Dan and I decide we don't want to live in Toronto anymore OR decide the need for space outweighs the need to live in the city, I'm totally buying a house in a neighbourhood that will allow me to paint it multiple bright colours.

Looking at these pictures just makes me so happy.
