Me with the bride...who looked beautiful |
I thoroughly enjoyed both movies (and the wedding) but if you asked me to pick a favourite I'd go with Moonrise Kingdom. While both films were quite different they both shared some similarities like: they were both set in the past (1970's and 1960's), they both dealt with love and keeping people apart, and most importantly both movies had clothes and props that have become my obsessions.
Exhibit A : Dark Shadows (the Coat That Started it All)
Victoria Winters is shown wearing this beautiful coat within the first few scenes of the movie and I WANT it. This is the coat that I've been obsessed with. I've been searching the internet and a few stores near my work for something similar. No luck. I think it's because I don't know what to call it. It's kind of a cape and kind of a trench. I tried cape-let trench and did find some pretty awesome coats but nothing like the one above. Suggestions?
I wish Victoria Winters was real, that we were friends, and we wore the same size clothes making it possible for me to borrow her wardrobe.
It's not all about Victoria's clothes. I wish you could see the crazy awesome wedges Michelle Pfeiffer is wearing with this equally as awesome dress.
All of Wes Anderson's films are visually drool-worthy but Moonrise Kingdom marks the first time I've ever actually wanted to steal a 12 year old's wardrobe. Actually I want to steal everything she owns, aside from Sam's heart, including her brother's record player.
Similar coat but with sleeves.
Adorable plaid lunchbox!

Is there any character from a movie whose closet you'd love to raid?
Alex & Arthur
Beautiful photos! I've been meaning to watch both of those films, I'm going to have to make some time to watch them soon!
