Friday Five Fave - October 10th, 2014

I carry around a lot of junk in my purse, so I'm not sure a clear portion is the best option for me.  However, this purse is adorable.

Sherilyn Fenn

So I met this beauty (my girl crush) in August at the Toronto FanExpo.  She's still super gorgeous and incredibly sweet.

I'll write more about my encounter in a future post because I was able to catch an awesome Q&A panel with Sherilyn Fenn, Sheryl Lee, and Ray Wise.

Hey, did we all hear about Twin Peaks 2016?  So, excited!

Friday Five - May 24, 2013

1. Dewback Dog Costume

Dear Arthur, please prepare yourself because I will be putting this on you once it arrives.

2. Illustrations by Kiersten Essenpreis

Gozer at the Dog Park
Bedtime for Log

Alien takes Jonesy to the Vet

3.Superholic - ShirtPunch

I've blogged about the website ShirtPunch before (here), it's a site that sells t-shirts but the designs are only available for one day. The TV ShirtPunch design for today is Super Mario meets Workaholics.

4. Infragram: the Infrared Photography Project on Kickstarter

I love this Kickstarter project.  The Public Laboratory community has created a simple, cheap infrared camera which can measure plant health.  Perfect for gardeners!  I love the way the images look.

5. Dapper Dog Wall Hook

Aw, look at his little monocle.  I think this would be perfect for our front hallway; we could hang Arthur's leash on it.

Happy Friday!

Friday Five - April 5, 2013

1. Gandalf & Saruman Salt & Pepper Shakers

Periodically Dan will send me emails of things that he wants to buy.  I got a link to this salt and pepper set in an email earlier this week and I concur -- want!

 2. Mary Had a T-Bar Platforms - by Iron Fist

I love Iron Fist merchandise and their shoes, platforms included, are always super comfy.  I love t-strap heels and the lambs, bows and spikes just make these extra adorable.

 3. IAMX (Chris Corner)

IAMX is the solo project of Chris Corner (from the Sneaker Pimps) and the reason I'm included him in this week's Friday Five is because he just released a new album (March 22nd) and I'll be seeing IAMX at the end of this month.

I had tickets when he came to Toronto in 2007 but ended up getting extremely sick and couldn't go.  So this will be my first time seeing IAMX live and I'm incredible excited.

 4. French Bulldog Ring by KopoMetal

Hey Alex, don't you already have a French Bulldog ring? I CAN NEVER HAVE ENOUGH FRENCH BULLDOG THINGS!!!

First, how cute is this ring (there's also a really cute French Bulldog wrap around ring) and second, there's quite a few cute rings available at KopoMetal's etsy store (fan of cats?) so I wanted to share.

5. Coconut Bacon

I follow Paul Jarvis on Instagram and Twitter and last week he posted a picture of coconut bacon that looks delicious and I've wanted to make some ever since.  In the comments section he indicated it’s made by mixing coconut pieces, soy sauce and mesquite powder.  Then you dehydrate the coconut pieces.  It sounds pretty easy.

If you like eating healthy veggie raw and cooked meals then you can check out his website EatAwesome.Ca and his “Eat Awesome - A regular person’s guide to eating plant-based, whole foods” guide.  There’s some yummy recipes and resources in there.

Happy Friday

Friday Five Fave - March 8th (All Doggie Edition)

Dan and I will be in New York for a few days next week and Dan's mother will be watching Arthur for us.  I'm currently in dog mode as I'm trying to compile a "Frenchie 101" package for her because, while she's used to babysitting dogs French Bulldogs fall under their own separate category.

With that in mind, I bring you an all doggie version of this week's Friday Five Fave.

1. DIY Dog Food Tin - by TidyMom

So, how cute is this tin?  Added bonus is that we already have a popcorn tin that someone gave to us for Christmas AND Arthur already thinks delicious (popcorn) treats come out of it.

2. Sweet Potato Chew Treats - 17 Apart

I'm always on the lookout for dog treat recipes plus I have a (vintage Kaj Franck Heart) bowl full of sweet potatoes that I need to get rid of before our trip, so this is a win-win!

3. Snout Soother by Natural Dog Company

The cracked dry nose -- the Frenchie's worst enemy (well that, and pretty much everything else in their existence).  I haven't tried this balm yet but I have high hopes based on the reviews.  I normally use Vaseline but Arthur just eats it off his nose before it has time to be absorbed into the skin.

4. Dog Scarf - Modcloth

So I'm a big dork and actually knit Arthur a scarf but if knitting isn't your thing you can try this adorable scarf from Modcloth.  I wish I had thought to add pom poms to the one I made.

 5. Death Star Dog Tag (ThinkGeek)

I saw these around Christmas time before they sold out but didn't buy one right away.  Immediately regret that now since they are sold out.  I periodically check just in case they come back in stock.

There's a QR Scan Code on the back that has all the pet and owner's information.

 Happy Friday!

Friday Five Fave - February 1st

1. R2D2 Heels - DIY Project

Such an awesome DIY shoe project.

2.State Fair Play Top from Modcloth

I love the colour combination of this top!

3. Valentines Day Cards by Ben Kling

4. Unicorn Bouquet by ThinkGeek

Because I kill plants. Not intentionally of course...but I'd love to have a bunch of little unicorns at my desk than dead roses.

5. Kraft Recipes - Oreos (Oreo Cherry Cookie Balls)

There are quite a few tasty Oreo recipes on the Kraft website...some of which can be easily veganized.  I really like the look of these Oreo Cherry Cookie Balls.  I think they'd be so cute for Valentines.

Friday Five Fave - January 18, 2013 (on January 21st)

I started preparing this post for last Friday but then didn't get a chance to finish it.  Then I tried to post it this past Friday to find that my laptop wasn't working.  *Cue to me freaking out.*  My laptop is fine now, the problem was minor, but it's incredibly scary when it won't work.  So, four weeks into January, I bring you my first Friday Five Fave post of 2013.  Exciting!

In no particular order:

1. Film Roll Salt and Pepper Shakers from Photojojo

It just so happens that I broke my salt and pepper shakers over the holidays so I'm in the market for a new set.

2. No Bake Peanut Butter Balls - Doggy Treats

I bought the 52 Weeks of Treats ebook from Chic Sprinkles and love it.  I've only had the chance to try the No Bake Peanut Butter Balls but they're extremely easy to make (only 3 ingredients) and Arthur (picture below with peanut butter all over his face) thinks they're pretty delicious.

 3. French Bulldog Magnet Set - Paper Forest

I've been eyeing this magnet set for awhile now and I've finally gone ahead and purchased them.  They're going to be displayed at my work desk.  I have a whole Frenchie/Arthur section.
 4. Mint Peach Necklace by Alina & T

I love the colours of this necklace (still all about peach and mint) and the mint bead at the back of the necklace.

5. Boba Fett Dress - Black Milk Clothing

I know I've posted items from Black Milk Clothing in the past, I think I even featured another piece from their Star Wars collection.  I just ordered the dress pictured below -- I'm pretty excited.

I wish it was actually Friday.  Boo Monday! I think I'd like Mondays more if Arthur was able to come to work with me.  I miss him.

Friday Five Fave - December 21, 2012

I prepared this blog post last night, so if you're reading this it means the world didn't end.  Hooray!

So in no particular order, my five fave of the day are:

1. Dalek Bag by KruKruStudio

So last Friday I posted about a piano felt bag that I absolutely love (here)!  Well, I learned that it's sold on etsy by KruKruStudio and there's a whole array of amazing felt bags. I'd love to own any one of them but I'm in awe of the construction and detail of this Dalek bag.

2. Tigre and Bunny Wedge by Iron Fist

I love Iron Fist shoes (they're vegan) and I've been eyeballing these wedges for the past few weeks.  Turquoise is probably my favourite colour (I love all colours) and it paired with pink is one of my favourite combos.

3. Lana Dress in Teal Fireworks by PinUpGirl Clothing

Speaking of blue....

4. Button Tree Ornament

I saw this post on the blog U.K. Lass in the U.S.and had a "can't believe I didn't think of that" moment.  It's one of the more elegant, kid-friendly crafts that I've seen.

5. Hot Chocolate on a Stick

I found this recipe on the blog My Own Ideas and they sound delicious, are easy to vegan-ize, and look adorable.  Once you've made your Hot Chocolate on a stick all you have to do is stir them into a warm cup of (soy) milk.  What a great gift idea.

Friday Five Fave - December 14, 2012

1. Felt Piano Bag

Dear, Dan.  I hope you're reading my blog --- Christmas present please!

2. Cat Dress by Bloomiful

I also really like these kitty paw rings.

3. Black Clutch made of Lego by AgaBag

4. French Bulldog Ring by Modernaked

I ordered this earlier this week -- I'm pretty excited for it!

5. I Love You Headless Horseman by Ryan Humphrey

It's Walken and Sleepy Hollow so I totally love this drawing.

Friday Five Fave - Christmas Edition

Hi Everyone!

I don't know why I'm sharing this with you -- I look super insane.  Apparently this is what happens when you tell me, "look like you're having fun"!
We had a Christmas Tree decorating party today at work so I'm in the holiday spirit.  Today's Friday Five Fave post is going to be all Christmas-y things I wish I owned.

1. Christmas Vacation Moose Mugs

I'm going to watch Christmas Vacation tomorrow while putting up my tree.  I also want to try this Vegan Eggnog recipe so the mugs would be perfect for my Christmas filled afternoon.

2. Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer Russian by PonyChops

I had a hard time deciding which was my favourite between this set and the Santa ones.  I like Santa because he's classic but these ones are just so cute!

3.  Can't Catch Me Sweater by Louche

Modcloth has recently posted quite a few awesome Louche sweaters, but I'm particular to this gingerbread one.

4. Snowflake and Deer Leggings

5. Cookies and Milk Ring by Allarts Kitchen

What's Christmas Eve without Cookies and (almond) Milk for Santa.  I love this cocktail ring by Allarts Kitchen.  I don't have nearly enough tiny food jewelry in my life.

In other news --- while I haven't ordered matching footie pajamas, I did order Dan and I matching Pacman Ponchos. Now we can go on family walks with Arthur and look cool!
